Christmas 2013 {part 1}

Our Christmas celebrating started early with a nice program at church. It is an all-inclusive service with a (short) kids production of the live nativity as well as various other talented performers/groups from our church singing Christmas songs and worship music. It's one of the services Seth and I always look forward to! (You may remember last years exciting performance involving a naughty donkey that attacked baby Jesus!)

 Aubrey was sick with the flu the week before the performance so he wasn't able to be in the kid's production. He was supposed to be a wise man. I think he enjoyed watching his friends up on stage more than being in the actual production.
 It's a struggle to get a family photo these days!
 It helps when he can see his silly self in the camera!
 After the service, I attempted to get a sibling photo of them in the manger setup. This happened spontaneously!! I'll take it!
 Seth thought Kate would like to see what it was like to be baby Jesus but she wasn't in to it!
 Kate enjoys the music that plays after services and likes to show off her dancing skills.
 We really wanted to go to a Christmas tree farm to get our tree this year but due to nasty weather and schedules, Seth ended up taking Aubrey to a nursery not far from our house to pick one out.
It was somewhat of an ordeal getting the tree (ya live and ya learn!) but it ended up being perfect!
 Kate and Aubs enjoyed decorating the tree. (notice: all the lights were working when we decorated initially….but two strands didn't make it to Christmas day…)
 Aubrey loved helping put ornaments on the tree.
 We put all the breakable ornaments on top... which is 90% of them. Kate loved the beaded garland and wore it around the house like a necklace while we decorated.
Another way we celebrated Christmas this year was with a fun countdown calendar from Momsicle. Aubrey loved opening a bag each day to see what special activity or treat was inside! Some days there was a task to do for someone else and others there were treats to enjoy!
Aubrey WOULD NOT take a picture so I told him he could wear his Spiderman mask/hoodie…whatever works!
Aubrey enjoying some Christmas french toast with holiday sprinkles from his treat bag that day!
