We got to practice some of his skills in Orange Beach. We set out early (5:30am) hoping the kids would sleep till 7am when we would stop for breakfast. Well, that didn't exactly work out as planned but it was still an enjoyable trip knowing we would have time to "play" once we got to the beach that afternoon. Aubrey talked deliriously for the first 30 minutes. It was pretty funny. Then, he had to stop to go pee so we pulled over on an exit ramp so daddy and him could go. Well, there was a little mishap and...let's just say that's not water in Aubrey's hair....(well it was after we rinsed out the pee) :)
So, we stopped in Alexandria at Cracker Barrel to eat breakfast and change the kid's clothes. As Seth was feeding Kate, there was another mishap and Seth ended up with a jar of baby food on his shorts. This is all within the first 2 hours of our 10 hour drive. Thankfully, we were able to laugh about all of the above and that was as exciting as the drive got!

Lots of sand castles were built and smashed. And lots of things were swiped out of Kate's mouth.
Check out the rolls on our girl.
The glasses didn't stay on long.
Lots of snacks were had.
Aubrey shared a room with us and would wake up at the break. of. dawn. every morning. Some mornings he would sit quietly and others I would snuggle with him to get him to go back to sleep...which didn't exactly work.
Uncle Andy showed Aubrey how to ride the waves in.
He wasn't a huge fan...
As you can tell from the pictures, it was only sunny for two of the days we were at the beach. One day it was raining, so we drove to Pensacola to the National Naval Museum. It did not disappoint. It was a great, free activity that everyone enjoyed.
There were several interactive things for the kids to do. Aubrey enjoyed playing on the kids tower and "driving" the jets. It was a great thing to do for a few hours on a rainy day. We could have stayed all day.
Kate enjoyed her first layout session (don't worry...this was mainly just a photo op and she didn't stay like this for long). It doesn't take much for her to get a tan. She has a darker tan than any of us and she gets lathered up with SPF 50 every time she's in the sun. Lucky {in the Napolean Dynamite voice}.

We were there during the rainy weather, too. Wish we would've thought about driving to Pensacola...looks fun!
