Kate is getting further and further from the baby stage. Each week she is doing something new. She is changing so fast. I can't believe how fast the past nine months have gone!
Brother has been in swim lessons this month so Kate has enjoyed hanging out with the younger siblings while brother swims. She loves being around other kids so much.
Here are some of her nursery friends. We all go to church together. They are all spaced a month apart. Kate is the youngest.
This month we went to the beach with Momsicle and Popsicle, Polly and Andy. We had a great time at the beach and pool. Kate LOVES the water. She would crawl around in the sand and I had to watch her close or she would try to eat handfuls of sand or seashells! Kate did fairly well on our drive down to the beach. She does not sleep well in her car seat so she naps about 30 minutes at a time.
Kate is an eating machine. She likes to eat and can't miss a snack. She is quite the messy eater. Although, you can't see it well in these pictures, she has stuff all over her face, hair, and drool down her chest. She changes outfits a couple times a day. She loves veggie straws, puffs, cereal, and baby food. She will eat other soft table foods like bread, avocado, and mashed potatoes. She has learned to sign "more" and will wave bye-bye. She loves "dada" and can identify him.
Kate is napping well with a nap in the morning (~1-2 hours) and a nap in the afternoon (~2 hours). She is flexible and does not require a strict schedule or set nap times, especially with picking up brother from MDO during her nap times. She is mostly a "happy baby" unless she is teething or hungry!
Kate's hair is a hot mess most of the time. It goes every where. When hot and sweaty, it will kink up an flip out. Usually when she wakes up from a nap (as seen above), it is all over the place but mashed down to her head. She still has long pieces on top and thin, short hair underneath.
Kate is beginning to cruise around. She is pulling up and working on strengthening her legs. She loves to "dance". I think she may carry on the "crazy leg dance" her father does. When she hears music, she starts bouncing and shaking her head. So. cute. We have gone to story time at the library this summer which includes music and she loves shaking the "egg" and hearing the kids sing. I think she enjoys it more than Aubrey.
Some sweet things big brother is doing now....he will get down from his chair, pull it over next to Kate's chair, and sit right next to her. He says, "I want to sit by Kate." And my heart melts.
Another sweet thing Aubrey does with Kate, he will crawl around with her (in the video he says he is playing following the leader). She LOVES when he "plays" with her and usually there is squealing involved. You can tell when she gets excited because there will be short, excited squeals with big eyes and a big smile!
Kate has a new face she has been making. She will scrunch up her nose as she smiles. She usually is snorting as she does it.
These are pics from her 9 month photo shoot. Excuse the baby cleavage. This girl has some meat on her and I love it. She is so squishy! She is in the 30th%tile for weight (17lbs 12oz) and 50th%tile for height (27.5in).
(excuse the boxes...we those are the last few in the dining room...maybe one day we will be fully unpacked!)
