It's been so long since I have posted about Aubrey I don't know where to begin.
For a Father's Day gift for my Dad, I took Aubrey to one of my Dad's old fire stations (just down the street from where we live). My Dad worked for the Shreveport Fire Department for over 30 years (on top of owning his own business)! He retired about two years ago, about the time I found out I was pregnant with Aubrey. The fire truck Aubrey is standing on was the very truck my Dad drove, the big ole ladder truck!
Aubrey is still slow to get off of baby foods since he has NO teeth! (Ugh...the poor thing has been teething for over a year now!) They can be seen if you look at his gums but I don't know what is taking them so long to come in! And wouldn't you know, the top are coming in before the bottom. There have been times when he has been crying in pain and gnawing on his hands. Some of his favorite foods are Pioneer Woman pancakes (made by his dad), popsicles, Earth's Best cookies, raisins, hot dogs and sometimes avocado. This picture below is one of the sweetest parts of meal time.
It's been fun to see Aubrey wear some of Seth's old clothes. We were pumped to get Seth's old cowboy boots and pass them down to Aubrey. When he tried them on for the first time, he loved stomping around in them. I love this picture because he looks like an ole hillbilly with his nightgown on!
We had an interesting summer with Seth's sisters being out of the country and then my sister moving back to LA. We really missed seeing Polly, Andy and Phoebe for two whole months. Hard to believe Polly is out of school and married! My sister, Kelly, moved back to town in July and I have really enjoyed spending more time with her and my nieces. Aubrey has loved playing with his cousins! We are getting excited about a new addition to the family in just a few weeks!
The Thomas clan reunited in August when Polly and Andy returned from Alaska and Phoebe made it home from Kamp (I don't know why but everyone spells it that way, I guess it's a Kanakuk thing).
Aubrey has really been growing since he turned one. He is finally above the 25th%tile on something on the growth chart. He weighed 22lb 4oz and is 32 inches long. That means he is close to the 75th%tile for height! What, what?! (And those old doctors said he would be short, psh) He is wearing 12 month clothes and filling them out quite nicely. He wears a size 5 to 6 shoe. He has almost skipped size 5 shoe.

Aubrey is talking SO much these days. He chatters all day but I have no idea what he is saying. He understands more words than he says. He is also a charmer. He knows how to turn it on! Lock up the girls! Oh boy. He is a mess!
We have enjoyed our summer even though it was miserably hot and we couldn't do much activity outside. I will do an update soon on how we ended it with some fun trips and activities!
One last thing I want to share for memory's sake. Almost every night, Seth will turn to me and say, "Let's go wake up Aubrey and play with him!!" I'll say "Ok" and we will laugh and stare at him on the video monitor. We LOVE sooooo much and are enjoying this stage in our life. We are so blessed!

I know how you feel...we have been so loving the stage we are in with Anniston, too! Aubrey is just absolutely adorable, Kristen! I cannot believe how much he has grown! So handsome, and I love the firetruck pics. Anniston was late getting her teeth, too, and her top teeth were first as well, ha. I've heard that it's better to get them late, though, because they're protected longer? I hope so!
We have to get them together soon because I just know some major flirting would be going on from both! Could be fun to watch :). Love and miss you!
