Crafty!

I have had the craft bug since I started planning Aubrey's birthday party back in April. So, I thought I would share a few things I have tackled.

For Mother's day gifts, I wanted to make something since I figured it could make it mo' special and cheaper (!!). I got the idea from this awesome website Tip Junkie. There are tons of diy craft ideas for gifts, decor, and parties. As I searched around, I found the idea to make a hand scrub out of kitchen staples! BINGO! So, I made this with Aubrey and this. (I forgot to take pictures and believe me theirs look better than mine did!)

I am always trying to transform our home into the dream home I picture in my head. I LOVE our little cottage of a house and it has come a long way since we first moved in 3 years ago! I found this little guy a few years ago at a garage sell. I sure do miss garage sale shopping! I think I bought this Pier 1 vase for a quarter.
It hit me one day to add some jute twine that I had used for other projects to the vase to change up the look a little bit. I just hot glued it on while wrapping and wrapping and wrapping it around. I loved how it turned out!
The biggest project I, really we, tackled was a new headboard! We have been talking about making a new headboard for a while but we've had other house projects that took priority. Every year Seth gets me a traditional or modern anniversary gift. He is so thoughtful with his gifts! This year was wood or silverware  so it was a perfect opportunity to make our new headboard because we didn't need any silverware! Ta-da:
We used a painters drop cloth, foam, batting, plywood, and 2x4s to make this. I think Seth wanted to shoot a staple through his foot when it came to getting those buttons on but other than that it was pretty easy. We really like it! (The picture doesn't to it justice...mostly b/c it's a crappy pic, sorry!)

So there you go, my simple projects from a simple, non-crafty person!
