It's the future ya'll!

A few months ago Seth surprised me with an iphone 4.  I'm less techy than I used to be (I guess it comes with old age :)). I barely knew how to operate one when I got it. So, Seth took me to a coffee shop one night to give me a tutorial. It has opened up my world! I tweet, listen to Pandora, take video and pictures, read the Bible, check email and Facebook, and keep up with my running grocery list! You know, productive things. :)

Well, a few weeks ago I pulled up our local library's website to see if they had a book I was interested in so I could go check it out. As I was searching on the website, I saw a link to check out books on your phone via an app. How cool! I could check out books without even going to the library! But, there was still a problem. You see, I am not a big reader but I really want to be! I just can't make myself sit down, turn off the tv, and stay awake long enough to read a book. Sad, I know. So, when I do read I try to make it count by reading the Bible or some book that challenges me in my walk with the Lord.

So back to the new app I discovered! I quickly downloaded it and started searching for books that would be of interest to me. I did find a few interesting ones. Then, I saw that you could also check out audiobooks! BINGO! This is perfect for me. I can listen to the book while doing housework or while I am getting ready!

My first audiobook to listen to was Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo. I had seen this around because it is a New York Times Bestseller but had not heard anything about it. Well, I downloaded it and began to listen. Let me say it is a must read (or listen in my case). The book is written by the Father of little boy who had an experience in heaven. Let me just say that everything the boy mentioned was in line with scripture (as far as I know) and brought me to tears every time I listened/read. If you have lost a family member, child, or unborn child, this is a must read. If you doubt heaven and Jesus, this is a must read.  Check it out! And when you do, let me know what you think!

I just finished reading most of The Birth Order Book: Why You Are the Way You Are by Dr. Kevin Leman. It is another must read! It helps you understand yourself, your spouse, your family, your friends, your coworkers or boss and kids. So enlightening! I recommended Seth to read it because it also had a chapter on how to improve your sales through discovering your clients birth order. I am interested in reading more of his books on parenting and being a people pleaser! He's got some good stuff and good tips. With any book, I take what I agree with and leave what I don't.

What are you reading? Have you read these books? I'd love to hear!
