One Year

(I know this is WAY overdue so just pretend like his birthday was yesterday...because it was...May just went by to fast!)
Aubrey is loving life! We have said many times over the past year he is the "happiest baby on the block" but it's true he could be a spokes baby for that book. Don't get me wrong he has his fussy, grouchy moments but for the most part he is a happy boy!
See, I'm keeping it real. I swear this shirt jinxed us! Seth and I bought this shirt for Aubs when we went to NOLA for a weekend getaway. We found this at the Aquarium. It says, "I get snappy without my nappy!". This was the first time he tried it on. :) I think this has happened every time he has worn the shirt.

He smiles and laughs a lot. And he makes others smile and laugh. He still will wave at the wind as it blows by and passing cars and people in the store, etc...
Aubrey is still not walking unless he is holding onto a finger or hand. He took 7 or 8 steps at one time but quickly went back to taking just 2 steps and then kneeling. He stands like a champ but just is not wanting to take off yet.
One weekend we went to Heart of Hope, a local maternity home we are involved with, to help plant a garden. We took Aubrey with us and set him up in the Pack-n-Play near our work site. He stood the whole time and watched them work. He loves being outside.

Another one of Aubrey's loves is music! He dances any time we have music on and I think he tries to sing sometimes too. He loves to play our piano and beat on stuff whether it's with his hands or another toy. One of his favorite toys has always been a toy guitar.
Aubrey is still wearing 9-12 month clothes and size 4 diapers. His weight gain has slowed down. He is having a hard time getting to 20lbs. He made the switch to whole milk right around his birthday but he is  having a hard time switching to whole foods. I think it is a texture thing. He will eat hot dogs, tender ham, cheese toast, PW pancakes, crackers, goldfish, bean pods from green beans, avocado and bananas. He still has NO teeth! Seth calls him Gumby sometimes when he has that big smile and shows his gums.
I asked you to be praying for Aubrey and the possibility for surgery a few months ago. Thank you for praying for us. We went to the doctor and he feels the surgery is not necessary at this time. We are not 100% this is the right choice but at this time we feel it is. Time will tell.
