Another Christmas tradition we continued this year was driving around town to look at Christmas lights! After baths, Aubrey and Kate had a ticket and their Christmas pi's ready to go. The ticket was good for a hot chocolate/chocolate milk and a car ride to look at Christmas lights!
(please excuse the unlit bottom portion of our tree…..darn lights!)
Woohoo...
...man down.
Aubrey was excited to see his Christmas hat appear in his car seat!
The next morning we ate "snowmen" for breakfast.
This was Kate's first try of powdered doughnuts! She liked them just a little.
One of the activities for the advent calendar countdown was to take the firemen a treat. So we took some treats to my Dad's old fire station is about a mile away from our house. Aubrey was excited to see the big ladder truck up close.
He liked all the lights and buttons too.
Since we were going to be out of town on Christmas morning, we decided to do our small family Christmas a few days early. (just ignore the unlit top and bottom portion of the tree…we need to invest in new lights!)
We had fun playing with all the new things!
A few days before Christmas, we went to Lake Charles. Seth went duck hunting with his Uncle Joey and Aubrey helped them clean the ducks.
We all went to Christmas Eve service together. The kids enjoyed the service but haven't mastered sitting quietly in church yet!
Christmas morning we enjoyed a nice Nerf gun war that included a sofa fort. Not sure who won…. Aubrey enjoyed being on the -sicle's team! (You can see the top of his head poking out between the pillows.)
Next, we opened stockings...
We ate breakfast with Mom and Pop Bond and PaJoe and then opened presents!
It was a VERY cold Christmas this year. We stayed inside mostly because you had to really bundle up to keep warm outside. We did go outside to play in the dirt for a little while.
Our church has a pajama service the week after Christmas that focuses on the children. This was the first time Aubrey has attended. It was good to practice our church behavior again! :)
We had a great time with family and friends this Christmas! Lots of great memories made!
