It's a new year ya'll!

I am catching up on all that has been happening with our fam! (yay, for that!)

For the first time in several years (probably since the last time we spent New Year's in NOLA), Seth and I had plans for New Year's. And not just any ole plans...BIG plans...in New Orleans. We got tickets to a SAINTS game on New Year's Day which meant ringing in the new year with all the crazies in NOLA!

Highlights of the trip:
First, we found an awesome hotel room in the quarter (which is hard to do during holiday & football season without it costing you your first born).
Second, one of our best couple friends came with us!
Third, it was perfect weather!
Fourth....we got a FREE meal at Drago's.
Fifth, we got to see the SAINTS play in the Dome (my first time)!

We met some good friends who live in NOLA for dinner and then headed down to the quarter to hear some music (and people watch).
Waiting for the Fleur de lis to drop on the riverbank
We had an eventful night people watching and enjoying the fireworks show over the river.

Had to share this billboard we saw in the quarter. Gotta love Mayhem!

The next morning we got up for the SAINTS game! It was such a fun experience.
We had great seats to see all the action!

Jimmy Graham! (and Sean Peyton) Got to see him make a one handed catch! So awesome!

After the game, we went to eat with some of Seth's work buddies we ran into at the game.
After the game we took naps and then headed out to eat, again! (I love the fact that when you go to NOLA all you do is eat! So much good food!) We heard that the SAINTS players hang out at two places-Lucy's Retired Surfers Restaurant and Emeril's. Both are located within a few blocks of each other so we headed to Lucy's. Let me just say...this restaurant is one of my new favorites!! They had good oldies music playing (I mean....the hits from when we were in high school!), a fun beachy atmosphere and good food and drinks. Definitely making a stop there every time we come back to NOLA.

And, yes, we saw Thomas Morestead there!
As you can see, we had a GREAT time celebrating the new year!

Happy New Year!!
